The Steps to Fellowship

Step 1:
Complete Application

Apply to the fellowship program via online submission

Apply for the Fellowship Program online

To apply via email or mail to the ERF Fellowship Program, candidates must complete and return:

  • a completed application (click here to download)
  • a complete copy of your Curriculum Vitae
  • any reprints of your published material
  • three letters of recommendation (one must be from your Chief)
  • a passport size photograph

Step 2:
Schedule Your Interviews

Upon receipt of the completed application and review, candidates may be notified for a virtual interview and then an on-site interview in Sarasota.

Virtual Interview:

  • Tuesday at 5:00pm via zoom
  • Includes a presentation

Onsite Interview:

  • These usually take place on Monday and Tuesday
  • Candidates should plan to spend at least two days on site

Step 3:
Complete Required Certifications

The fellowship is usually awarded a minimum of one year in advance, which allows time to obtain the necessary certifications:

  • Apply for Florida medical license and send application for surgical privileges to: Sarasota Memorial Hospital
  • Obtain certification to use the various lasers for surgery

If it is not possible for you to obtain the above-mentioned licensure, the Foundation does arrange unsalaried research fellowships. If this is the case, please note your request to do so in your cover letter.
